DIY Mythological Japan Tour
Visit Kyoto and explore Japan’s traditional arts and crafts, historical temples and shrines, tranquil Zen gardens and culinary delights. Then you will set out for an exciting trip to the mythological venues of Japan - the San-in region. A scenic train ride will take you to the castle town of Matsue by the Japan Sea coast. Take the ferry boat to a remote island of Oki where an Emperor was once exiled in the 12th century. Next, you will visit Sakura-e, a small town in the deep mountains known for the sacred dance – “Kagura” - performed by the locals. Your last stop will be the beautiful, quaint pottery town of Hagi by the sea. On this tour, you will stay in hotels in Kyoto and Matsue. On Oki Island, Sakura-e and Hagi, you will have your choice of a Japanese or Western style room.
